The Department of Education and Training announced the initial number of students registered for their first preference at 169 public high schools on 4/5. Parents and students now have a window to adjust their 10th-grade preferences until 5 PM on 8/5, based on each school's enrollment quotas and application figures.
This year, TP HCM sees over 169,000 secondary school graduates, marking an increase of nearly 43,000 from last year. With approximately 70% of these students expected to secure a spot in public 10th grade, competition remains a significant factor.
The 10th-grade entrance exam is scheduled for 1-2/6. It comprises three core subjects: Math, Literature, and a Foreign Language, primarily English. Students applying to specialized schools will take an additional corresponding specialized subject exam. However, in Thanh An island commune, part of the Con Dao special zone, schools will admit 10th-grade students based on academic records rather than an entrance examination.
