The Academy of Journalism and Communication (AJC) announced the tuition fees for its 2026 admissions cohort in late April.
Students pursuing political theory teacher training programs are exempt from tuition fees. These programs include: Philosophy, Scientific Socialism, Political Economy, History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh Thought.
Tuition for standard programs is nearly 559,000 VND per credit, a slight decrease from last year's 571,000 VND. Over a four-year period, the total tuition for these programs decreases by more than 1.5 million VND, based on 130 credits.
Conversely, for quality-accredited programs, the fee per credit is nearly 1.2 million VND, an increase of over 100,000 VND. This results in the total cost for the entire course increasing by 17 million VND. The number of programs in this group has also expanded from 7 to 24, including majors such as: public relations, advertising, journalism, publishing, communication, and economic management.
As in previous years, AJC divides its training programs into four groups. Group 1 comprises journalism and publishing; Group 2 covers theoretical fields; Group 3 is history; and Group 4 includes majors in communication, advertising, and international relations.
The university plans to enroll 2,150 students using three admission methods.
The first method is direct and priority admission. This applies to candidates who have won a national third prize or higher in subjects such as: Literature, English, Mathematics, History, or Geography, depending on the major. If candidates choose not to utilize their direct admission right, they receive priority consideration for suitable majors.
For combined admission, applicants can use their average transcript scores from six semesters for two subjects, combined with an English certificate like IELTS or SAT, an international standardized test.
Finally, the university considers high school graduation exam scores. The admission score is the total of three subjects, with a weighting factor applied to the main subject, which could be: Literature, History, or English, depending on the major.
AJC allows applicants to convert IELTS certificate scores to replace the English subject in their admission combination. Those with SAT scores receive an incentive bonus of 0.3-0.7 points added to their total admission score.

The 2025 benchmark scores for the Academy of Journalism and Communication ranged from 22.96 to 25.08 on a 30-point scale, and 33.64 to 37.5 on a 40-point scale. Multimedia Communication and Economics (Economic Management) were the two majors with the highest benchmark scores on each scale, while Scientific Socialism and Journalism (Television Cinematography specialization) had the lowest entry scores.
