The Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training leader confirmed this information on 17/6. Specifically, a student was found with a mobile phone at the end of the first optional subject exam, around 8:25 am on 12/6.
The incident came to light following a social media post on 13/6. The poster stated that an acquaintance recounted seeing a student bring documents and a mobile phone into exam room 0577 at Ngo Gia Tu High School, Bac Cam Ranh ward, during the physics exam. The post claimed the proctor did not document the incident, and the student continued the exam until the end. The post spread rapidly before it was removed.
Following the reports, Khanh Hoa province established a verification team, which concluded that the incident was true. The Department leader announced that the exam council unanimously agreed to cancel all of the student's exam results, in accordance with the regulations set by the Ministry of Education and Training. Authorities are continuing their investigation to address those involved at the aforementioned exam site.
The 2026 high school graduation exam took place on 11-12/6, involving a record 1,2 million students nationwide. Khanh Hoa province saw approximately 22,000 students participate. Prior to this student, three other individuals were suspended from the exam for bringing mobile phones.
