On the morning of 1/7, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the 2026 high school graduation exam results for over 1,2 million candidates.
Candidates have five days to request a review of their exam papers if needed, with the deadline on 5/7. Results will be returned by 20/7 at the latest.
Regarding the review process, literature is the only essay-based subject, so it is re-graded by two examiners in two independent rounds, using a different colored pen than the first grading. If the grading results are identical, that is the candidate's review score.
If the scores from the two examiners differ, the exam paper will be assigned to a third person for grading. If two out of three examiners' results match, that score is taken; otherwise, the average of the three scores will be used.
If the review score differs from the announced score by 0,25 or more, whether higher or lower, the candidate's score will be adjusted.
For multiple-choice subjects, examiners compare the answers marked by the candidate on the answer sheet with the scanned image and the computer-recognized results. If there is a discrepancy, the examiner identifies the cause and prints the grading results before and after correction for record-keeping.
Candidates will be considered for high school graduation if they complete all required subjects and no subject receives a failing score (one or below).
The graduation eligibility score is calculated on a 10-point scale, representing the sum of the average scores of all exam subjects and the academic transcript average, combined with incentive and priority points. The specific formula for calculating the 2026 high school graduation eligibility score is as follows:

For priority points, candidates receive an additional 0,25 to 0,5 points if they are children of war invalids, sick soldiers, people's armed forces heroes, labor heroes, ethnic minorities, or those affected by chemical agents, among others. Candidates meeting multiple priority criteria will receive the highest applicable standard, without cumulative addition.
Candidates receive one to two incentive points if they win awards in provincial-level or higher excellent student competitions, practical experiment exams, cultural and artistic events, sports, or science and technology contests. If they win multiple awards, they will only receive the highest single incentive point for the highest-level award.
The academic transcript average score is calculated as follows:

Achieving a graduation eligibility score of five or higher, candidates are recognized as high school graduates within five days of the exam results announcement.
Candidates can use their graduation exam scores to register for university admissions through the Ministry's system, starting from 2/7 until 17h on 14/7. During this period, they can adjust their preferences an unlimited number of times. The deadline for submitting admission fees is 17h on 21/7.
After this period, universities will conduct virtual filtering, admissions, and announce results from 17h on 9/8. Admitted candidates must confirm their enrollment before 17h on 21/8; universities with remaining quotas will continue supplementary admissions, with the final deadline in 12/2026.
