On 8/6, the Dong Nai Department of Education and Training finalized the announcement of 10th grade entrance exam scores for 114 high schools, including three specialized schools.
At Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Duc Nhat Vuong topped the specialized mathematics exam with 46,25 points, 10 points above the passing standard. He scored 8.75 in Literature, 9.25 in English, and 9.75 in Mathematics. For the specialized mathematics subject, Vuong achieved 9.25 points.
"After finishing the exam, I expected to get a high score and likely pass into the specialized mathematics class," Vuong said. "But I didn't dare to think about becoming the top scorer because there were so many candidates this year."
Two years ago, Vuong's older brother, Nguyen Duc An, also achieved the top score in the specialized mathematics cohort and is currently in 12th grade. School leaders noted this marks the first time Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted has seen siblings accomplish this same feat.

An and Vuong's parents are both teachers. According to Trinh Thi Duyen, their mother, the secret to their children's academic success is never creating pressure for achievement.
"Our family mainly lets the children develop their own abilities. Every day, we try to create positive energy so they can study comfortably and pursue their passions," she said.
This year's 10th grade exam in Dong Nai saw over 30,000 students participate. Besides Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted, the city also features two other specialized schools: Quang Trung High School for the Gifted and Binh Long High School for the Gifted.
