This year, UIT plans to admit over 2,300 students. In addition to direct admissions for students who have won national or international awards, the university will consider a comprehensive assessment based on high school graduation exam scores, competency assessment results, and academic transcripts.
This admission method utilizes a 100-point scale with the following formula:
Admission score = 47,5% x high school graduation exam + 47,5% x competency assessment + 5% x academic transcripts + bonus points (if applicable) + priority points (if applicable)
For the high school graduation exam component, candidates can choose between their 2026 high school graduation exam scores, scores converted from a competency assessment using the percentile method, or international high school graduation exam scores (such as IB or A level).
Similarly, the competency assessment component offers three options: scores from the competency assessment exam organized by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; scores converted from the high school graduation exam using the percentile method; or SAT and ACT scores.
The academic transcript score is the highest total average score over three years of high school for the subjects in the chosen admission combination for the major.
If a candidate has multiple types of component scores, the university will automatically select the most advantageous option for the applicant.
