The parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of national day took place at Ba Dinh square. It began with a flyover of helicopters, transport aircraft, and fighter jets. Following this, contingents representing the national flag, the army, the police, and the public marched past the reviewing stand, then dispersed onto the surrounding streets.
The culture and sports contingent included 80 artists, such as: Le Khanh, Minh Luan, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, Song Luan, Huynh Lap, Tang Duy Tang, Buc Tuong band, MC Nguyen Khang, Miss Tieu Vy, and rapper Double 2T. The number 80 is symbolic, representing the 80 glorious years of the nation. The culture and sports contingent is a core element, contributing to preserving and promoting the national cultural identity, while enriching the spiritual lives of the people.
Singers Trang Phap, Mono, and Hoang Thuy Linh rode on the float leading the contingent. Male stars, including Den Vau and musician Phan Manh Quynh, wore smart suits or white shirts and dress pants. They all carried flags, smiling and waving amid cheers from the crowd.
"I am very happy to march through the historic Ba Dinh square. I will always remember and proudly tell my children and grandchildren about this moment when I, along with my colleagues, held the national flag high," said MC Nguyen Khang.
Singer My Tam, dressed in white, held hands with a little girl and marched with Hoa Minzy, Phuong My Chi, and Duong Hoang Yen in the children's contingent. They also gave performances at the end of the program. The previous evening, on 1/9, My Tam and other artists performed an inspirational concert before 20,000 spectators at My Dinh stadium, the final national concert of the grand celebration.
