47-year-old actress Giang To Binh's accusations against 25-year-old Cung Ich Dinh have captivated the public since August 18th. Binh alleges Dinh drugged, sexually assaulted, and filmed her naked. Initially, Binh withheld the identities of those involved, stating only that another actress had confided in her about being assaulted and filmed by a man working at a television station.
On September 3rd, Binh posted on social media that she would reveal the names if she didn't receive an apology. Two days later, she identified Cung Ich Dinh, a former employee of Sanlih E-Television, as the alleged perpetrator. According to Binh, Ich Dinh resigned from his position, fearing repercussions for the company. Binh also revealed herself as the victim, explaining she initially spoke on behalf of another actress to shield her mother from worry.

Binh claims she and Ich Dinh were formerly in a relationship that ended in June. The alleged assault occurred after a gathering with friends. Ich Dinh visited Binh's home and, taking advantage of her fatigue, switched her medication with a powder that rendered her unconscious. He then allegedly assaulted her and sent a video of the incident to several people. Upon regaining consciousness, Binh demanded he delete the video, but he threatened her.
According to CNA, Sanlih E-Television released a statement on September 5th announcing Cung My Phu's resignation from his executive position to cooperate with the investigation. The network emphasized its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace and its zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment. Sanlih E-Television, founded in 1992, is one of Taiwan's largest content producers.
My Phu stated he is fully cooperating with the company's internal investigation. "I am Ich Dinh's father, and I believe in my son," he said. "Ich Dinh is an adult, and if he made a mistake, he must take responsibility. But I believe the law will ultimately clear his name.”
Ich Dinh admitted to dating Binh but claimed their relationship ended in late August 2025, not June as Binh stated. He denied the assault allegations, suggesting Binh "fabricated the story" out of emotional distress and an inability to accept their breakup.
In response to her ex-boyfriend's denial, Binh accused Ich Dinh of having narcissistic personality disorder and exaggerating his own importance. She also claimed two other women had been assaulted by him. Binh has described feeling anxious, exhausted, and sleepless, often startled by noises and afraid to sleep. She has also accused Cung My Phu, the former vice president of Sanlih E-Television, of enabling his son's behavior.

Binh's actions have sparked public debate, with some questioning her motives and pointing to inconsistencies in the narrative. Truong Tu Uyen, an employee at Taiwan's Ministry of Health and Welfare, commented on Yahoo that many women, fearing ridicule and attacks, seek help in ways similar to Binh's. She encouraged victims of assault to report to the police and gather evidence.
However, others argue that publicly naming individuals before the investigation concludes could constitute defamation and violate their privacy. Many question why Binh didn't report to the police sooner, instead opting for social media. Binh has yet to respond to these questions.
Attorney Lam Chi Khe noted that revealing too many details before the official investigation could allow the accused to destroy evidence. She recommended victims consult with a lawyer and provide statements to the police rather than posting on social media.
