The 11-year-old, a grade 5 student at Suoi Da A Primary School, was on summer break when the incident occurred on 18/5. He climbed over a fence into a neighbor's yard and was attacked by a German Shepherd kept there. The homeowner quickly found the boy and rushed him to emergency care for multiple injuries to his head, arms, and legs.
He is currently receiving treatment at Children's Hospital 1 in TP HCM and is in stable condition.
On 21/5, Dinh The Trong, Chairman of the Duong Minh Chau commune People's Committee, stated that the boy's family faces financial hardship, with his parents working as laborers. The commune People's Committee has provided 17 million dong to cover his medical expenses.
Commune leaders confirmed the dog had received its regular rabies vaccinations. The homeowner is also actively contributing to the victim's treatment costs.
