Nine people died and nine others were injured this morning when a vehicle carrying 18 members of a charity group overturned in Phinh Ho commune, Lao Cai province. The injured victims, aged 22 to 44, include eight from Ha Noi and one from TP HCM. They were initially treated at Tram Tau Regional Medical Center for multiple injuries, including closed chest trauma, abdominal and shoulder injuries, head wounds, perineal wounds, leg fractures, and spinal injuries.
Following initial treatment, eight patients in stable condition were transferred to Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital in Ha Noi for continued care. The male patient with a traumatic brain injury was moved to Lao Cai General Hospital No. 3 for emergency surgery.

The 29-seat vehicle overturned on a slope while the group was on a charity mission. Debris was scattered widely at the scene. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, but initial assessments suggest brake failure.
The Lao Cai Department of Health stated that following the accident, General Hospital No. 1, General Hospital No. 3, Tram Tau Regional Medical Center, and other nearby medical facilities mobilized personnel, vehicles, medicine, and equipment to provide emergency care and transport the victims.
