On 17/10, the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital inaugurated its second facility in Kieu Phu commune, Hanoi. The facility has 300 inpatient beds, 17 departments, and 11 sections, with 2,731 technical services approved by the Ministry of Health.
The new facility has been serving patients for two months, averaging about 300 examinations daily. It maintains 150 inpatient beds, performs over 4,000 lab tests, and handles approximately 20 births and 5-10 gynecological surgeries each day.
"These initial results demonstrate the demand for medical examination and treatment at the new facility, while expanding access to high-quality healthcare services for residents of Hanoi and neighboring areas," said Professor Doctor Nguyen Duy Anh, Director of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.

Professor Anh stated that facility two is oriented towards a modern hospital model, guided by the principle of "two facilities – one team – one professional standard," ensuring consistent treatment and care quality.
Accordingly, highly qualified experts, professors, doctors, and physicians rotate between the two facilities, allowing patients in Kieu Phu to access specialized expertise without compromising treatment quality. The hospital also implements a paperless digital operating model, connecting administration, human resource coordination, and the supply of medicines, chemicals, and medical supplies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra praised the new facility's operation as a milestone, enhancing healthcare capacity for mothers, newborns, and gynecological patients. She urged the hospital to prioritize quality, safety, and patient satisfaction, ensuring no professional differences between the two facilities.
The Vice Prime Minister requested the hospital leverage its strengths in fetal medicine, assisted reproduction, prenatal diagnosis, high-risk pregnancy treatment, neonatal care, and gynecological oncology. She also called for increased scientific research, digital transformation, international cooperation, and training for lower-level healthcare providers. Facility two should aim to become a modern specialized hospital in the ASEAN region, integrating high-tech development with effective treatment and public accessibility.
Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan announced that the ministry would coordinate to resolve any operational challenges at the new facility. The Minister also requested Vietnam Social Security to collaborate in ensuring healthcare benefits for the public.
