According to the doctor, regular monitoring and appropriate methods applied from this stage can effectively control the rate of myopia progression, limiting the risk of future complications.
In addition to the expert presentation, the workshop provided one-on-one examinations for children with experienced ophthalmologists. Myopia control methods were advised based on each child's specific vision status and daily habits.

The workshop featured a lively atmosphere with many families and school-aged children participating. Parents raised questions about early signs of myopia, appropriate times to apply control methods such as Ortho-K (non-surgical myopia control), and how to establish good eye habits for children.
Doctors answered these questions based on medical evidence and real-world data, helping parents better understand their children's eye conditions and choose appropriate interventions.
The examination area saw enthusiasm from the children as they experienced the vision measurement process with modern equipment, guided by doctors and technicians. According to a representative from Mat Saigon Bien Hoa Hospital, screening results at the workshop showed that about 80% of participating children exhibited signs of myopia. This reality indicates that refractive errors are becoming increasingly common in children, highlighting the urgent need for early detection and timely progression control.
In response to this situation, the hospital is implementing a specialized myopia progression control package for children, focusing on long-term monitoring and age-appropriate interventions. Additionally, the facility is offering a financial support program, "School Price Support", which provides a 50% discount (equivalent to 1 million dong) for students.
The workshop concluded with positive feedback from parents. According to the hospital representative, this event will be a foundation for Mat Saigon Bien Hoa to continue organizing specialized workshops in the future, contributing to raising community awareness and collectively controlling refractive errors in children.
