On 15/12, Dr. Tra Anh Duy, a second-degree specialist from Men's Health Center, reported that a patient sought examination 8 hours after sustaining an injury during sex, attempting positions "like those in sex films". Clinical examination revealed the patient's penis was bruised and bent approximately 40 degrees to the left. Ultrasound confirmed an 8 mm tear in the tunica albuginea, along with a hematoma – typical signs of a penile fracture.
The patient was transferred to a hospital with a urology department for emergency surgery.
Penile fracture occurs when an erect penis is suddenly bent, primarily during vigorous intercourse or when attempting unusual, angled positions. Many cases stem from imitating actions seen in 18+ films. It is important to note that such films are staged and edited, and the human body has its own physical limitations.

Doctors advise that if a "snap" or "pop" sound occurs during intercourse, accompanied by sharp pain, rapid penile swelling and bruising, noticeable curvature, or blood in the urine, patients should seek immediate medical attention. Delaying treatment significantly increases the risk of erectile dysfunction and chronic penile curvature, whereas early surgical intervention helps mitigate these complications.
