Taiwanese star's preference for eating offal to 'reverse aging'

Actress Chen Qiao En maintains a youthful appearance like a woman in her twenties, thanks to a diet rich in collagen-filled offal, a grapefruit-based weight loss plan, and traditional oriental medicine acupuncture.

In a recent birthday video on Douyin, Chen Qiao En appeared with smooth skin and a fresh appearance. Initially, the actress mistakenly placed candles for 37, but after a friend reminded her, she changed them to 47. Many fans commented on their surprise and asked for her secret to looking "20 years younger than her actual age."

Chen Qiao En shared that she often breaks out in acne when stressed. To address this, she maintains a daily habit of drinking soy milk. Rich in isoflavones, soy milk promotes collagen production, reduces wrinkles, and nourishes the skin for a brighter complexion. Additionally, this beverage helps regulate hormones effectively. The actress advises choosing low-sugar or sugar-free varieties to maintain her figure and avoid excessive calorie intake.

Beyond drinking plant-based milk, Chen Qiao En also enjoys eating animal offal. Many people often shy away from animal organs like pig intestines and brains due to their challenging taste. However, on a reality television show, Chen Qiao En asserted that eating pig intestines and brains has helped her maintain a youthful appearance compared to her actual age.

She explained that pig intestines contain abundant collagen, which helps maintain skin elasticity, while pig brains are rich in phospholipids, which protect the brain and support cell recovery. Furthermore, iron-rich offal is considered a "miracle blood tonic," promoting a rosy and vibrant complexion, especially beneficial for individuals with anemia.

Alongside skincare, the actress also focuses on maintaining her physique. She follows a special grapefruit-based weight loss diet. Specifically, for each meal, Chen Qiao En consumes half a grapefruit or a glass of grapefruit juice combined with other foods, while completely eliminating carbohydrates. The actress follows this meal plan for 12 consecutive days, then takes a two-day break for free eating before starting the next cycle. This routine helped her lose 3 kg in just six days.

This impressive result stems from grapefruit's low-calorie content, with only about 42 calories per 100 grams, yet it provides a lasting feeling of fullness despite the very low energy intake. Additionally, the abundant naringin content in grapefruit helps stabilize blood sugar and boosts metabolism, making this fruit an ideal substitute for carbohydrates in daily meals.

In addition to dietary methods, Chen Qiao En also utilizes aesthetic acupuncture, also known as "cham dieu," a beauty therapy in oriental medicine that uses microneedles to stimulate the entire body, from head to toe.

The actress affirmed that this method not only helps her improve shoulder and neck pain and dowager's hump but also tightens facial muscles. Aesthetic acupuncture uses needling techniques to regulate blood and qi flow in the meridians, while also affecting the skin layers, adipose tissue, and muscle fascia on the face to achieve effects such as skin brightening, fading blemishes, minimizing pores, and lifting facial contours.

Finally, an indispensable habit in Chen Qiao En's self-care routine is taking baths. She shared her particular fondness for soaking in the bathtub, believing that its sweat-inducing effect is even better than exercise.

Bathing not only promotes blood circulation and muscle relaxation but also aids in detoxifying the body and reducing water retention, helping the body become more slender and toned. However, experts note that this therapy is not suitable for individuals with a history of cardiovascular disease or diabetes.

Born in 1979, Chen Qiao En is one of the leading actresses in Taiwan's entertainment industry. Her name is associated with television works such as Fated to Love You, The Prince Who Turns into a Frog, Swordsman, and The Queen of SOP.

Chen Qiao En is known as the "Queen of Idol Dramas" for her participation in many films on this theme throughout the early 2000s. In recent years, Chen Qiao En has maintained her appeal thanks to her youthful beauty, slender figure, and frequent sharing of beauty and fitness tips on social media.
