Son La Provincial Police announced on 10/7 that they disciplined 50 individuals for sharing false and subversive content from Le Trung Khoa on social media. This action followed a comprehensive review of cyberspace by the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department.
Police investigations revealed numerous accounts within the province had posted negative comments and disseminated distorted information from Khoa's online platforms. To curb these violations and limit the spread of malicious content, authorities summoned over 50 people for questioning.
These individuals admitted to their actions. Based on the nature and severity of the violations, the Cyber Security Department, in collaboration with local commune and ward police, educated and warned 46 individuals. Four others faced administrative fines totaling over 30 million VND.
Following the sessions, all offenders voluntarily removed their comments, exited groups containing harmful content, and pledged not to repeat the offenses.
This is not an isolated incident. Previously, hundreds of social media users in other localities were also summoned by police for similar actions involving content from pages associated with both Le Trung Khoa and Nguyen Van Dai.

Le Trung Khoa, a 55-year-old Vietnamese national residing in the Federal Republic of Germany, is central to these cases. In late December 2025, the Hanoi People's Court tried Khoa in absentia. He received a 15-year prison sentence for "making, storing, disseminating, or propagating information, materials, and items against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam," under Article 117 of the Penal Code.
The court's verdict specified that since 2016, Khoa had used 12 online pages and channels to post numerous articles and video clips. This content distorted and slandered the people's administration, fabricated stories to cause public confusion, and defamed the reputation and honor of Party and State leaders, all with the explicit aim of opposing the state.
