The incident came to light after a video circulated on social media on the evening of 7/5. Security camera footage captured a young man being attacked on Kha Van Can street. Recognizing the impact on public order, authorities initiated an investigation.
The 29-year-old victim initially did not report the incident, stating his injuries were not serious. According to his testimony, two nights ago, while driving his girlfriend on Kha Van Can street, he was forced off the road by another individual who then repeatedly punched him in the head and face.
Based on the collected information, authorities swiftly tracked down the ride-hailing driver and brought him to the station. He was located hiding in a rental room on Vo Thi Thua street, An Phu Dong ward (former District 12).
At the investigation agency, the man confessed that he acted out of jealousy and anger upon seeing his ex-girlfriend with a new partner, so he followed them to confront him.
