Producing fake salted coffee, two directors charged

Hundreds of thousands of counterfeit coffee packets from popular brands were recently seized at the Detech Konnai Joint Stock Company's factory in Hung Yen, leading to the prosecution of multiple individuals.

On 16/4, the Economic Police Department of Hung Yen Provincial Police announced that four individuals have been charged with producing counterfeit food, foodstuffs, and food additives.

The defendants include Vu Thi Huong (52 years old, executive director), Truong Viet Dung (51 years old, factory director), Tran Huu The (40 years old, deputy factory director), and Nguyen Huu Khai (24 years old, production team leader).

Previously, through monitoring the activities of Detech Konnai Joint Stock Company, the Economic Police Department detected unusual activity in its food production. Following a specialized investigation, authorities raided the factory, catching a large-scale fake coffee production line in operation.

At the scene, police seized 12,566 boxes of finished coffee products, containing nearly 200,000 individual packets, along with 25,250 unboxed coffee packets. The factory was equipped with modern packaging machinery, raw materials, and additives for production.

According to the investigation, the seized products counterfeited brands such as Rock - Cafe Muoi, Cafe Dua Chill, Cafe Nhan Sam LIFE, Cafe Sua Boost, Cafe Socola va Bac Ha Crush.

Police advised consumers to carefully check product labels and origins before purchasing. If any coffee shows unusual signs in taste or packaging, consumers should report it to the authorities.
