Bus driver fatally stabs colleague in parking dispute

Nguyen Van Xanh, 42, was arrested after allegedly stabbing a fellow bus driver to death following an argument over a parking space.

Police in Dong Thap province announced on 23/3 the temporary detention of Nguyen Van Xanh, 42, a native of Can Tho, on suspicion of murder.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on the afternoon of 14/2 at a rest stop on National Highway 1 in An Huu commune, Dong Thap province. Xanh, driving a passenger bus, arrived at the stop. Shortly after, Mai Tan Trung, 44, from An Giang, also arrived in a bus from a different company and parked.

The two drivers then began disputing a parking spot, which escalated into an argument. Trung retrieved a golf club from his vehicle and struck Xanh's arm. Enraged by the assault, Xanh returned to his bus, grabbed a sharp knife, and stabbed Trung multiple times in the arm and chest, causing his death.
