Clothing shop owner arrested for abusing young girl

Vo Thanh Dung, 56, is accused of exploiting a fitting session to abuse a 12-year-old girl.

Vo Thanh Dung, a 56-year-old clothing shop owner, was detained by An Giang Provincial Police on 3/1 for allegedly abusing a 12-year-old girl. He faces investigation for sexual assault of a person under 16.

Investigations revealed the incident occurred around 5 p.m. on 28/12/2025. The 12-year-old girl cycled to Dung's shop to collect a pair of trousers she had previously ordered. Dung was alone in the store at the time.

Dung reportedly lured the girl into a back area under the pretense of rechecking her measurements, then assaulted her. He held a wooden ruler, intimidating the victim, who did not resist out of fear of being hit. The girl later recounted the incident to her relatives, who then reported it to the police.

At the police station, Dung confessed to the crime.
