The Tay Ninh Provincial Police announced on 17/3 that they have temporarily detained Thuan, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, for murder.
According to the investigation, Thuan was a construction supervisor in Ben Luc commune, where Danh Phol, 48, a resident of An Giang, worked as a laborer. Last night, Phol was drinking with his nephew, Danh Nhi, 37, at their boarding house when he recalled a previous conflict with Thuan.
Around 10 PM, Phol called Thuan, leading to an argument. He then asked Nhi to drive him to the construction site to confront Thuan. Upon arrival, the two men reportedly rushed at Thuan, knocking him to the ground.
Thuan then grabbed a pruning knife and repeatedly stabbed Phol, who collapsed. Other individuals at the construction site, hearing the commotion, intervened. The victim was transported for emergency care but died en route to the hospital.
