On the evening of 8/6, the National Gendarmerie raided a house in Roldan, Santa Fe. They not only found the 41-year-old drug lord, Flavio Gabriel Batista, but also discovered square packages buried in the garden corner. These packages contained a total of 50 kg of cocaine.
The drug lord's mother fainted on the spot. She and her son were both arrested the same day.
According to the investigation, Flavio worked for the Borras brothers, drug trafficking kingpins in Rosario. They managed their own drug trafficking operations, procuring drugs from Bolivian producers and providing logistical support for transporting illicit goods to ports. The network's ultimate goal was to transport cocaine from Argentinian seaports to Europe. Flavio was a key figure in the operational structure, facilitating the land transport of the cargo after plane landings.
Following the trail of the Borras family, in May, the Gendarmerie arrived at a field in the Villa Eloisa area, where the gang was preparing to receive a shipment. When discovered, the drug traffickers opened fire on officers. Authorities seized 300 packages containing 321 kg of cocaine from the aircraft. The Borras brothers, who were on the ground awaiting the drug shipment, escaped but were arrested a few days later.
Flavio, however, remained at large. Police analyzed his phone call logs, determining he had returned to his hometown and was alternating between three homes belonging to his mother and relatives. The final raid was carried out on the evening of 8/6, and the 50 kg of cocaine were discovered, potentially linked to previous dealings.
