On 30/5, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control Department - Quang Ngai Provincial Police, in coordination with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control and police units from various localities, formed multiple task forces to summon Hoang and others in the ring.
According to the investigation, Hoang, as the mastermind, used a Super-level (super agent) football betting account to log in to the website. From this account, he used electronic devices and information technology to create, manage, and assign permissions to numerous sub-accounts, forming a multi-tiered gambling organization system comprising: 9 Master accounts (general agents), 9 Agent accounts (intermediate agents), and 104 Member accounts (direct players).
Through a tight hierarchical model, the group attracted many participants. From early 2026 until the bust, the total gambling transaction amount through the system is estimated to exceed 600 billion dong.
Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control Department, advised that if individuals or organizations are found enticing or luring others to participate in football betting, the public should promptly report it to the police.
The case is currently under further investigation by the Police Investigation Agency.
