Around 6:30 PM on 7/2, a violent altercation occurred on National Highway 12 in Dan Hoa commune, Quang Tri province, near the IDEL gas station at Cha Lo International Border Gate. The incident involved Dang Xuan Chinh, 38, and Le The Anh, 46, both residing in Nam Hong Linh ward, Ha Tinh province. The confrontation began after a minor collision between their semi-trucks.

Chinh was driving a Lao-plated semi-truck inland when it collided with the rear of Anh's semi-truck. An argument quickly ensued between the two drivers, escalating into a physical fight.

During the altercation, Chinh used scissors to stab Anh, causing about four small, non-serious wounds to his back and abdomen.

Anh retaliated by retrieving a machete from his vehicle and striking Chinh with its blunt side. Chinh was hit, fell, and was then kicked in the face, losing consciousness. He sustained a 5 cm laceration to the back of his head and bled profusely. At the scene, another man was seen holding a flashlight, apparently assisting Anh in attacking Chinh.

Both injured drivers were transported to the emergency room for treatment. Chinh's vehicle sustained minor front-end damage, with estimated repairs of 20 million dong. Anh's vehicle had damage to its trailer hitch, estimated at 5 million dong.

The Dan Hoa Commune Police are currently investigating the incident.
