Hung Yen Provincial Police announced on 8/2 that they had temporarily detained Nguyen Van Bien, 34, from Hai Phong, on charges of murder.

Initial investigations revealed that on the afternoon of 7/2, Bien and his colleagues had a meal at a restaurant in Phu Duc commune. During the gathering, Bien and other workers from his company engaged in an argument, which others intervened to stop.

After leaving the restaurant, Bien went to visit a relative in Phong Xa 1 hamlet, Phu Duc commune. There, he became involved in another dispute with a 45-year-old man, also from Hai Phong. During this altercation, Bien went to the kitchen, retrieved a knife, and stabbed the victim, who died at the scene.

Following the crime, Bien took the weapon and surrendered to Phu Duc Commune Police, confessing to his actions.
