According to investigators, the incident was reported around 7h on 25/7 by the manager of a Dien May Xanh branch in Duy Xuyen commune. The manager stated that the store had been broken into, and 19 iPhone 17 Pro Max phones, valued at over 698.8 million dong, were stolen.
A scene investigation revealed that the suspect had studied the store's operations. Police determined he disabled the camera system server to conceal his actions. By 16h30 the same day, police arrested Cuong and recovered all the stolen phones.
During questioning, Cuong confessed that he lacked money for expenses, leading him to plan the theft. On the night of 24/7, he used tools to pry open an emergency exit to gain entry. Once inside, he disabled the camera system server before taking the 19 iPhones and placing them into a backpack.
According to his testimony, after leaving the scene, Cuong took two ride-hailing trips across multiple routes to conceal his tracks before bringing the phones home to hide them.
