On 25/2, Le Van Thuong, originally from Ca Mau, was detained by Dong Nai police on suspicion of murder.

On 9/2, police received a report from residents of Binh Phuoc ward regarding a 46-year-old woman who had been electrocuted in her rented room and was being treated at a hospital in TP HCM.

During the crime scene investigation, detectives discovered signs of disturbed items, suggesting a staged incident. When Thuong learned that relatives suspected foul play, he fled to Ca Mau.

When summoned for questioning by authorities, Thuong denied killing his wife. He confessed only after police presented him with compelling evidence.

Thuong stated that, due to a dispute, he took advantage of his sleeping wife, used an electric cord to assault her, and then staged the scene to appear as an electrocution.
