Luong Van Tien, 26, from Thuan Chau commune, Son La province, is under investigation by the Dai Mo Ward Police and the Hanoi City Police Criminal Investigation Department for robbery.

The incident unfolded at 13:25 on 30/8. Tien, wearing a face mask, initially entered a Winmart supermarket to buy milk, then returned for an ice cream. As the cashier opened her drawer for change, Tien abruptly pulled a knife from his pocket, threatening, "give me the money or I'll kill you".

Frightened, the cashier quickly closed the cash drawer and retreated to a corner. Tien then jumped over the counter, continuing to brandish the knife.

After approximately 20 seconds, Tien hastily grabbed a mobile phone before fleeing the scene.

Police investigations revealed that Tien is a drug addict, lives a transient lifestyle, and typically works as a wall painter in Hanoi. The motorcycle he was using had also been stolen by him. To prevent his escape or further criminal acts, five task forces from the Dai Mo Ward Police and the Criminal Investigation Department launched a multi-directional manhunt.

Following a 48-hour investigation, police apprehended Tien on the afternoon of 1/9 in Le Ho ward, Ninh Binh province.
