Man with five prior convictions breaks in, ties up homeowner to rob property

Nguyen Van Hiep broke into a home, threatened the female resident with a knife, and then used tape and electric wire to tie her up before stealing three mobile phones.

On 31/1, the Bac Ninh Provincial Police announced the temporary criminal detention of Hiep, 40 years old, residing in Luc Son commune. He is being investigated for property robbery.

According to the investigation, Hiep has five prior convictions, no stable profession or residence, and often lives itinerantly. On the afternoon of 27/1, he broke into the home of a 50-year-old woman in Hop Tien village, Ngoc Thien commune, using a knife to threaten and subdue her.

Once the woman was unable to resist, he tied her to a kitchen chair with tape and electric wire. He then stole three mobile phones, valued at approximately 8 million VND.

After interviewing the victim to verify the assailant's description and the weapon used, police identified Hiep as the suspect.
