Masked assailant storms home, repeatedly slashes victim with knife

Driven by an existing social dispute, Hoang Van Thuy, wearing a mask and a hat to conceal his face, reportedly stormed into an opponent's home and repeatedly attacked him with a knife, leaving the victim severely injured.

On 10/4, Ho Chi Minh City Police arrested Thuy, detaining him for investigation into charges of intentionally causing injury.

Initial investigations indicate that Thuy harbored a desire for revenge against a 52-year-old man residing on Tran Binh Trong street in Tam Thang ward, stemming from an earlier personal dispute.

At noon on 2/4, Thuy arrived at the victim's residence, disguised in a red jacket covering his head and a mask, armed with a knife. As he called out from outside and the homeowner emerged, Thuy unexpectedly drew his weapon, attacking the man with multiple slashes before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained severe injuries.

The victim's family promptly rushed him to emergency care. Security cameras captured the entire incident.
