Police captain attacked while on duty

Captain Tran Viet Hoan suffered a broken leg after being attacked with a crowbar by K'Jao, whom he and his colleagues were attempting to bring to the station for throwing rocks at a neighbor's house.

On February 24, K'Jao, 25, was detained by Lam Dong Provincial Police for investigation into resisting public officials.

According to the investigation, on February 19, the third day of Tet, K'Jao was drinking and causing a disturbance. After being reprimanded, he picked up rocks and threw them onto a neighbor's roof. Responding to reports from residents, Bao Loc Ward 3 Police dispatched Captain Tran Viet Hoan and another officer to ask K'Jao to stop his actions and accompany them to the station for further processing.

K'Jao allegedly refused to comply and used a crowbar to attack Captain Hoan, breaking his left leg. K'Jao was subsequently subdued.
