Police investigate homeowner for threatening locksmith with knife

A wife's decision to hire a locksmith to open a locked bedroom door, where her drunk husband was unresponsive, led to a tense confrontation and threats with a knife.

On 28/4, Di An Ward Police in Ho Chi Minh City began investigating an incident where a homeowner threatened a locksmith with a knife.

At the police station, the male homeowner admitted to conduct and language captured in a social media video.

The locksmith stated he received payment as agreed but posted the video due to the homeowner's aggressive reaction. The video has since been removed.

The husband used a knife to threaten the locksmith inside the house. Photo cut from video.

The events unfolded around 4 p.m. on 25/4. A wife, fearing for her husband's life, contacted a 31-year-old locksmith. Her husband had returned home intoxicated, locked himself in the bedroom, and was unresponsive to her repeated calls.

After the door was forced open, the husband, who was sleeping, suddenly awoke, yelling and striking the locksmith with a wooden stick. He then brandished a knife, demanding the door be "fixed before he could leave the house".

The wife intervened to explain, but her husband yelled at her. Family members eventually stepped in, allowing the locksmith to escape safely.

Di An Ward Police are coordinating with the People's Procuracy to determine the appropriate legal action.
