On 10/5 at 14h, a child was herding cows with her mother in Pa Nhac forest, Doan Ket village, Tan Doan commune. After leaving her daughter to play at a hut for 30 minutes while she went to chase cows, the mother returned to find her child missing.
After an unsuccessful search with family and friends, the mother reported the incident to Tan Doan commune police at 19h30.
Multiple search teams were deployed, but the search faced difficulties due to the vast area, dense vegetation, and steep slopes. At 21h30, commune police and local residents found the child lying unconscious in a stream under a waterfall in the forest.
The child sustained severe head trauma, a broken collarbone, and numerous scratches on her abdomen, having fallen into a deep stream with a nearly 10-meter high cliff. Given the urgent situation, police coordinated with medical personnel to provide initial first aid before transporting her to Lang Son Provincial General Hospital, approximately 45 km away.

The girl is now out of critical condition and has begun to show signs of regaining consciousness. On the morning of 11/5, Colonel Le Dang Khoa, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, led a delegation to visit, present gifts, and offer encouragement to the family.
Lang Son Provincial Police advised families not to leave children unattended in public or secluded areas. They also urged residents to immediately report any lost children to the nearest authorities.
