Nguyen Trung Sang, 30, residing in Truong Vinh ward, was criminally detained by Nghe An Provincial Police on 16/5. He is under investigation for snatching property, an offense under Article 171 of the Penal Code.

According to the investigation, on the morning of 11/5, Sang drove a motorbike to a convenience store kiosk on Le Hong Son street in Truong Vinh ward. He pretended to be a customer, asking to buy 10 chicken eggs.

Authorities allege that when the female shop owner brought out the items, Sang immediately snatched the gold necklace from her neck and fled the scene.

After the crime, Sang removed his motorbike's license plate and traveled through various streets to avoid detection. He then went to a jewelry shop on Nguyen Sinh Sac street in Thanh Vinh ward, where he sold the stolen necklace for over 74 million dong, which he intended to spend.

Upon receiving the report, the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police dispatched dozens of officers to track him. Within one day, they traced his whereabouts, apprehended Sang, and recovered the stolen items.
