Thuan stated that he married Hoa in 2021 and lived with her family. A year later, they had a daughter. Marital disputes arose, leading Thuan to move back to his mother's house in Ea Kao ward. He would occasionally visit his daughter.
He claimed that for the past 10 days, he felt ostracized by his wife's family. Hoa frequently didn't answer his calls, was often away from home, and prevented him from seeing their daughter. This fueled his desire for revenge, leading him to plan the murders.
According to the investigation, last night, after using methamphetamine, Thuan took a knife and a hammer and traveled by taxi to Hoa's house in Thanh Nhat ward (formerly Buon Ma Thuot City). When Nghia opened the door, Thuan immediately attacked him with the hammer, dragged him out into the street, and then stabbed him to death.
Thuan then entered the house and killed Hoa and her mother. He also stabbed Phat (Hoa's son) multiple times. Despite severe injuries, the boy escaped to a neighbor's house and was taken to the hospital. Hoa and Thuan's 3-year-old daughter was also present in the house at the time, but Thuan did not harm her.
After the murders, Thuan stole money from his mother-in-law. While fleeing, he stole a Honda SH motorbike, opened the trunk, discarded two phones found inside, and pocketed the cash. To evade police, he wore a woman's long coat and covered his face.
The suspect confessed that during his escape, he bought another knife, more drugs, and sleeping pills, intending to commit suicide.
In response to this serious crime, Dak Lak Provincial Police deployed over 100 officers to block roads and search for the perpetrator. At 8:30 am today, police apprehended Thuan while he was hiding in a remote field in Ea Kao ward. They recovered several items, including drugs and a bottle of sleeping pills.
