On the morning of 7/8, the Hai Phong City People's Court sentenced Nguyen Thanh Long, 38, known as Tien 'Bip', and Nguyen Van Tuan to 8 years in prison each for organizing the illegal use of narcotics.
According to the indictment, on the afternoon of 7/7/2025, Long wanted to use methamphetamine, so he used an acquaintance's bank account to transfer 500,000 VND to Tuan.
Tuan subsequently went to a grocery store, where he paid 500,000 VND by bank transfer and received 460,000 VND in cash as change. Long then instructed Tuan to bring the cash home and assist him with a livestream. At 1:15 AM on 8/7/2025, after the livestream concluded, Long gave Tuan the 460,000 VND to purchase drugs for them to use together.
On the morning of 8/7/2025, Tuan traveled to Dong Hoa ward and bought two packages of methamphetamine. Upon returning home, Tuan concealed one package in a jacket pocket hanging in the bathroom and prepared a portion of the other in a glass pipe for immediate use.
Later that same day, Nguyen Van Dao and Long arrived at Tuan's residence. The three individuals took turns heating the glass pipe to inhale the drug. At 2 PM, police officers unexpectedly raided the location, catching them in the act. During the raid, Long smashed the glass pipe in an attempt to destroy evidence.
During the investigation, Long initially denied instructing the drug purchase, claiming the 460,000 VND was for Tuan to "go out with his girlfriend". However, based on bank account statements, transaction data, and testimonies from the other defendants, prosecutors found sufficient evidence to establish Long as the initiator, financier, and director of Tuan's drug purchase.

Both Long and Tuan admitted to the actions detailed in the indictment during the trial.
Long, using the moniker Tien 'Bip', is a well-known "online gangster" across platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. He frequently livestreams, sharing his "gangster philosophies" and demonstrating "cheating gambling techniques".
