Mikquale T. Cooper, known as BloodHound Q50, was fatally shot in an ambush by six gunmen at a south Chicago gas station on 13/9. The 22-year-old rapper was in the driver's seat of his Tesla around 4h when two vehicles approached and opened fire, according to police.
Videos posted on social media captured part of the incident, showing at least two individuals advancing towards Cooper's car and firing shots.
Cooper was hit in the chest and shoulder, dying at 4h35. Police found a gun in his car, but it had not been used.
The Tesla sustained multiple bullet holes on the driver's side, and a nearby restaurant window was shattered. A preliminary police report indicated six gunmen fired over 50 rounds during the ambush.
The suspects then fled in two vehicles: a black Acura sedan and a silver Honda Accord.
An unnamed woman, speaking to media, stated she saw the gunmen approaching Cooper's car and tried to warn him moments before the first shots rang out. She fled immediately afterwards.
No arrests have been made yet. Police have not released suspect descriptions or disclosed a motive for the shooting.

Cooper began releasing music in 2023 under the stage name BloodHound Q50, quickly gaining recognition in Chicago's drill rap scene. He released tracks like Big 3 and Coffin, later signing with Signal Records in late 2024.
The rapper had over one million monthly listens on Spotify, and his latest project, Get Back or Die Trying, was released in August.
In July, Cooper told vlogger DJ Akademiks that he had been shot before and did not fear death. "If it's my day, it's my day. I'm not dodging nothing. I'm not running from nothing. If it's there, I'm facing it", Cooper said.
