The Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has approved an emergency project to address natural disaster consequences on Prenn Pass, a critical gateway to Da Lat. The project, costing 16 billion VND, aims to stabilize the slopes and prevent further landslides. It is expected to be completed within 4 months.
The preliminary plan for the project involves lowering the existing slope and constructing various reinforcement structures to ensure the stability of the hillside. According to the Lam Dong Department of Construction, a consulting unit is currently finalizing the design, which will undergo appraisal and review before construction commences.

Prenn Pass has experienced repeated landslides following heavy, prolonged rains in August and September. On the afternoon of 19/9, a significant landslide near Datanla Waterfall saw rocks and soil spill onto the road. A subsequent survey by the Lam Dong Department of Construction identified a 120 m long, 20-25 m high section of the cut slope as unstable, posing a risk of further collapse.
In response, the province declared a natural disaster emergency on Prenn Pass. Authorities took immediate action, felling 26 three-leaf pine trees that were either dead or precariously positioned on the slope, threatening to uproot and fall onto the road.
