According to Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan, as of 13/8, there are 250 projects across 34 provinces and cities ready for launch or inauguration, with a total investment of approximately 1,280,000 trillion VND. This includes 89 projects to be inaugurated and 161 to be launched.
By sector, there are 59 transport infrastructure projects, 44 civil and urban works, 57 industrial projects, 36 technical infrastructure projects, and 22 social housing projects. State capital accounts for 129 projects with 478,000 trillion VND (37% of the total), while 121 projects are funded by other sources, totaling 802,000 trillion VND. Five projects are funded by foreign direct investment (FDI), with a total investment of 54,000 trillion VND.
Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan stated that the simultaneous inauguration and launch of these large-scale projects will contribute to driving socio-economic development, strengthening regional connectivity, and supporting 8% growth or higher in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years, creating jobs and livelihoods for the people.
Among the notable projects to be inaugurated is the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh commune, developed by Vingroup. Scheduled for completion in 2027, the project has been expedited by almost two years. The structure features complex design, aesthetic architecture, and super-long, super-heavy steel structures.
The Rach Mieu Bridge 2 project exemplifies Vietnamese construction expertise. Previously, cable-stayed bridge construction required foreign consultants and contractors, resulting in extended construction times. Now, Vietnamese contractors have taken the lead, shortening the construction time by 4 months.
Also launched in this phase is Viettel's Research and Development Center, a key facility for researching high-tech equipment, particularly semiconductors, AI, and data. The total investment for this project is about 10,000 trillion VND.
