Presiding over a regular government meeting on 7/8, prime minister Pham Minh Chinh asked localities to "avoid regrettable mistakes" when organizing events to celebrate National Day. The concerts and fireworks displays in 34 provinces and cities aim to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere, boost morale, inspire people, and enhance their spiritual well-being.
Around 200 major projects will be commenced or inaugurated during the National Day period.

In August 1945, the general uprising to seize power across the country succeeded within 15 days, leading to Vietnam's independence after nearly 100 years under French colonial and Japanese fascist rule.
On 2/9, at Ba Dinh Square, president Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence before hundreds of thousands of people, proclaiming to the nation and the world the birth of the independent and free Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
Preparations for the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on 2/9 are underway, with forces actively rehearsing. Six forces are expected to participate: The traditional torch procession and platform guards; the artillery salute; the air force flyover; the parade; the background formation; and finally, the formation and lettering team.
The parade itself will consist of 4 ceremonial blocks; 43 blocks representing the armed forces (26 army blocks, 17 police blocks), including a foreign military block; military artillery vehicles and special police vehicles; a naval parade; 12 civilian parade blocks; and a cultural and sports village block.
The background formation will include platform guards, 11 army blocks, and 7 police blocks.
