A chain collision involving 5 vehicles occurred on the TP HCM - Trung Luong expressway on the afternoon of 12/8, leading to significant traffic delays. The incident, which caused no injuries, involved a five-seater car and four trucks, damaging multiple vehicles and creating several kilometers of congestion during rush hour.
The accident took place around 4:30 PM as a five-seater car traveled on the TP HCM - Trung Luong expressway, heading towards TP HCM. Upon reaching the border section between Ben Luc and Luong Hoa communes, the five-seater car collided with a truck traveling behind it. Subsequently, three other trucks were involved in a successive pile-up.
Following the collision, all 5 vehicles were left on the lane adjacent to the median strip. Cabins and rear sections of some vehicles were deformed, with broken glass scattered across the road surface.
The expressway management unit quickly responded to the scene to regulate traffic and coordinate incident handling. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated.

The TP HCM - Trung Luong expressway spans nearly 50 km, featuring four lanes and two emergency stop lanes. Operational since 2010, the expressway frequently experiences congestion due to high traffic volume. An expansion project is currently underway to increase its traffic capacity.
