The Vietnam Red Cross Society announced this in a thank you letter on 14/8. The campaign commemorates the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (2/12/1960 - 2/12/2025).
"The campaign has received an enthusiastic response from millions of Vietnamese," the letter stated, affirming that the funds raised are a vivid testament to the special, loyal, and steadfast friendship and solidarity of the Vietnamese people with the Cuban people. This will be a valuable resource to help Cuba overcome difficulties, stabilize life, and develop.
The Vietnam Red Cross Society expressed gratitude to the committees, ministries, branches, associations, businesses, international organizations, benefactors, and many people at home and abroad who have joined and shared. The campaign will continue for 65 days, from 13/8 to 16/10.

Vietnam and Cuba established diplomatic relations on 2/12/1960. During the resistance war against the US, Cuba provided significant support to Vietnam, especially in food, medicine, and pharmaceuticals. Currently, Vietnam is Cuba's second largest Asian trading partner and its largest investor in the region.
A memorable milestone in the relationship between the two countries was Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated zone of Quang Tri in 9/1973. At Hill 241, he declared: "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to give even our own blood." This affirmation became a great source of encouragement, adding spiritual strength to the Vietnamese army and people.
