According to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, the investor, the lighting system at these sites was completed in 5 months, two months ahead of schedule. Beyond these locations, the project also included artistic lighting for other historical structures: Thu Ngu Flagpole, Ben Thanh Market, and Ton Duc Thang Museum.

The project, with a total investment of nearly 50 billion VND from Ho Chi Minh City's budget, commenced in June 2024. Each artistic lighting system is programmed to change colors according to various scenarios, adapting to the specific space and landscape of the area.
Specifically, Mong Bridge, spanning the Ben Nghe Canal (connecting former districts 1 and 4), features 414 LED lights, artistic lighting strips, and 12 decorative poles. The City Children's House also received 550 LED lights, artistic lighting strips, and 64 decorative poles. Several other structures have similar main components installed.
The investor stated that implementing artistic lighting enhances the nighttime scenery of the city's cultural and historical sites. This system also promotes the city's architectural landmarks to international tourists.

Previously, in late 2024, giai doan 1 of the artistic lighting system on Ba Son Bridge, connecting Thu Thiem Urban Area in Thu Duc City to district 1, was implemented. Lights were installed on the cable stays, tower pillars, and both sides of the span structure, highlighting the bridge's distinctive lines and architecture.
Soon, Ho Chi Minh City will further develop the Ba Son Bridge artistic lighting system by installing LED lights on the outer surfaces of the cable stays. This aims to create dynamic visual effects that change according to architectural themes or significant city events.
