Around 3h on 24/11, a sleeper bus with a Ca Mau license plate, driven by a 38-year-old driver and carrying dozens of passengers from Ca Mau to TP HCM, began to experience issues. Upon reaching the area of Khanh Hau ward in Tay Ninh province, the driver noticed smoke rising from the rear of the vehicle and immediately pulled over into the emergency lane to investigate.

Shortly after, an intense fire erupted, sending plumes of smoke dozens of meters high. Panicked passengers grabbed their belongings and quickly exited the bus. The driver and nearby individuals attempted to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers but were unsuccessful, prompting a call to firefighting forces.

Approximately 30 minutes later, firefighters brought the blaze under control. The incident resulted in no casualties, but the sleeper bus and many belongings inside were completely consumed by fire. The expressway experienced prolonged traffic congestion for several kilometers as vehicles slowed down when passing the scene.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
