On 11/12, Luong Son Commune Police announced they had summoned the 51-year-old man who assaulted the bus driver to the station for questioning and classification of his actions.
The man initially stated that he had been drinking alcohol and had an altercation with the driver before boarding the bus.
According to bus driver Nguyen Van Thu, 50, around 3 PM on 10/12, as his bus reached Luong Son commune, a male passenger boarded. Thu reminded the passenger to "take a seat to ensure the schedule is maintained". Immediately after his remark, the passenger began cursing, approached the cabin, and then forcefully struck Thu on the head and face. At the time, two women were seated in the back of the bus.
"I quickly slowed the bus and pulled over to the side of the road to avoid losing control and to ensure passenger safety," Thu stated.
Over two minutes later, relatives of the male passenger arrived and requested the driver to open the door, allowing the passenger to alight about 500 meters from the initial boarding location.
The entire incident, lasting over two minutes, was captured on video by onlookers and subsequently posted on social media, drawing widespread public outrage.
