Following tourist boats initiated rescue efforts. The Cua Dai Border Guard Post also dispatched two canoes and 14 officers and soldiers, who collaborated with local forces. They quickly mobilized to the scene, bringing all individuals involved safely to shore.
The distressed vessel belonged to Song Bien Xanh Limited Liability Company, with Nguyen Duy Tam serving as captain. Weather conditions in the Cua Dai sea area that afternoon included winds of level 3-4.
This incident recalls a previous sinking in the Cua Dai sea over four years ago. That accident involved a canoe carrying 39 people from Cu Lao Cham island to the mainland, resulting in 17 fatalities. The captain of that vessel, Le Sen, was subsequently sentenced to 7 years in prison.
