Around 8 p.m. on 7/3, a 35-year-old driver was towing a 9-seater Hyundai from a company to a garage in former District 7 for repairs. As he approached the Khang Dien residential area in Phuoc Long ward, he noticed flames rising from under the car. He quickly pulled the tow truck to the roadside, lowered the burning vehicle, and called for help from residents to extinguish the fire, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Within minutes, the fire intensified, engulfing the entire car.
The incident occurred on Vo Chi Cong street, a vital gateway connecting ports in Thu Duc City with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway. The blaze caused significant traffic disruption in the area. Drivers of other vehicles proactively stopped at a safe distance from the scene to mitigate any potential risk of further explosions.

Approximately 10 minutes after the report was received, several fire trucks and more than ten firefighters arrived at the scene. They quickly deployed hoses to bring the blaze under control. Despite their swift action, the fire had already reduced the 9-seater car to a charred wreck.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
