Car crashes into multiple motorbikes at red light in Ho Chi Minh City

A Mercedes car crashed into three motorbikes stopped at a red light in front of Tan Binh industrial park, injuring two people, at noon on 16/9.

At approximately 10:30, a car driven by a man was traveling on Truong Chinh street, heading from the intersection leading to Tan Son Nhat airport's T3 terminal towards An Suong roundabout. As it approached the entrance of Tan Binh industrial park in Tay Thanh ward, the 7-seater car unexpectedly collided with several motorbikes stopped at a red light.

One motorbike was dragged over ten meters under the car before it stopped. Nguyen Hung, who lives near the scene, reported that two victims sustained broken legs and soft tissue injuries, while others suffered minor abrasions. "Traffic was heavy at that time, and many people heard a loud noise from behind and ran, avoiding further impact," Hung said.

The car sustained front end damage, with debris and belongings from the motorbikes scattered across the road. Truong Chinh street, already barricaded this morning for metro construction, experienced extended traffic congestion due to the incident.

Traffic Police arrived to document the scene for investigation and took the driver to the station for questioning. By nearly 12:00, the damaged vehicles had been removed.
