Around 11 AM, a car parked within the Hoang Anh River View apartment complex on Nguyen Van Huong Street (Thao Dien area) caught fire in its engine compartment. Upon discovering smoke and flames, residents alerted the management board, who brought mini fire extinguishers to put out the blaze, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Minutes later, the flames engulfed the car, scorching the rear of a seven-seater car parked in front of it. Ms. Lan, a resident of the building, stated that the car caught fire very quickly from the front. Many people attempted to extinguish the flames but feared the fire could cause the fuel tank to explode, so they did not dare to approach. Owners moved several nearby parked vehicles to safety.
Fire trucks and nearly ten firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters used hoses to extinguish the flames within about 5 minutes. The fire reduced the five-seater car to a charred frame, with its windshield and windows shattered. The seven-seater car sustained damage to its rear.

According to police, the burned vehicle operated as a ride-hailing taxi. Its owner had parked it in the apartment complex's grounds that morning to rest at home. The initial cause is believed to be an electrical system short circuit.
