On the afternoon of 6/5, two cattle unexpectedly crossed a barrier and entered a lane of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway in Chau Pha commune, Ba Ria - Vung Tau. Drivers slowed down and maintained distance to prevent accidents. Authorities coordinated with the owner to herd the cattle off the road.

The incident stemmed from residents removing protective wire mesh fences to graze animals on land reserved for the project's phase 2, according to a representative from the expressway's management unit. The People's Committee of Chau Pha commune also reported that residents frequently graze livestock, cross the road, and stop on pedestrian bridges along the expressway, posing a risk to traffic safety.
In response, the management unit has reinforced fences with additional barriers to prevent recurrence. Local authorities urged the unit to review the entire route, especially areas where people frequently cross or graze livestock. They also recommended adding warning signs, reinforcing fences and protective netting, and increasing patrols to prevent people and livestock from entering the expressway.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is nearly 54 km long, with a total capital of about 17,800 billion dong, divided into three component projects. On 29/4, over 37 km of component projects 2 and 3 opened to oto with fewer than 9 seats, with a maximum speed of 80 km/h. The entire route is expected to open to traffic before 18/5.
