Zhang Lu, 38, an employee at a company in Duc Hoa commune, Tay Ninh, joined a group of 5 male and 3 female colleagues, including both Vietnamese and Chinese nationals, for an outing to Dinh mountain this morning.
While hiking, Zhang Lu suffered a broken leg and became stranded. Given the steep, rugged terrain, her companions were unable to assist her down the mountain. They contacted police shortly after 12h.

Fire and Rescue Team Area 23 of the TP HCM Police dispatched two vehicles and 9 officers, who arrived at the scene within 5 minutes. However, their vehicles could not reach the exact location. The officers then proceeded on foot, carrying rescue equipment, hiking over 2 km up the mountain to reach Zhang Lu.
Rescue personnel reported that Zhang Lu was conscious but panicked due to her injury and the intense midday heat. Officers administered first aid, splinted her leg, and calmed her to ensure cooperation.
Transporting Zhang Lu down the mountain by stretcher presented another challenge. Due to her weight and the numerous steep sections of the trail, the rescue team had to proceed with extreme caution.
By 13h50, Zhang Lu was safely brought down the mountain and transported by ambulance to Ba Ria Hospital.
Dinh mountain, located approximately 70 km from TP HCM, with its highest peak reaching about 500 m above sea level, is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and trekkers. The area boasts a landscape of hills, natural forests, streams, and pagodas, drawing both pilgrims and those seeking outdoor excursions. The trails leading up the mountain are generally steep, featuring numerous slippery rock sections. During the rainy season, these conditions increase the risk of accidents, necessitating physical fitness and thorough preparation from hikers.
